A: Shoot Hoops Not Guns Classic is a basketball league established in 2017. The league brings communities together, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and unity while providing a platform to showcase athletic talent. It also serves as a tool to keep youth engaged in positive activities. 

Q: Who can participate in the league?
A: Our league is open to youth and adult players. Specific age groups and divisions are announced before each tournament or season.

Q: Where are games and events held?
A: Our games and events are held at Half-Nelson Playground in The Bronx, but as we expand we’re working on partnering with local schools, recreation centers, and community gymnasiums. Check our Events page for specific locations.

Q: What can Shoot Hoops Not Guns Classic do for us?
A: Our league strives on the importance of building leaders, being able to follow directions, teamwork, and understanding value of having a supportive community. As we grow we're also dedicated to preventing gun violence through mentorship, outreach and education. We aim to empower youth, strengthen communities, and promote positive alternatives to violence. 

Q: How does your work impact the community?
A: By providing positive alternatives to violence, we inspire youth to pursue their goals and build stronger connections within the community. We’ve distributed hundreds of toys, clothes, and school supplies and engaged hundreds of participants in our community events annually.
